Tennessee State Tigers Mourn The Death Of Center Chazan Page
The TSU center was a victim of a hit-and-run accident in Nashville.
Tennessee State University's football team and community are mourning the loss of their teammate, offensive lineman Chazan Page. The 20-year-old center lost his life in a hit-and-run accident in Nashville overnight, according to Keith Sharon of the Nashville Tennessean. The Skyline Medical Center pronounced Page's passing.
Page, a 6-foot-1, 295-pound athlete, started for two seasons under head coach Eddie George at Tennessee State University.
"My thoughts and prayers are with our football student-athletes, coaches and families, and friends," TSU athletic director Mikki Allen commented in a press release.
His friend and Tigers teammate Romello Tarver posted his sentiments on social media: "Losing a teammate hurt, but losing a close friend differentβ¦ waking up hearing my dawg passed got me numb to my core. Moving to Nashville was an easy transition because of this guy and his familyβ¦ He made me hangout with him everyday and get out my comfort zone until it became a regular thing β¦. I donβt make these kinda posts when people pass away or for even my own family membersβ¦ but my boy Chazan Page was truly my homie."
